What is so special about microneedling?

(IBEXFashion) - I have been interested in this procedure for a while now. Even though it has been named a 'vampire facial', it still has me intrigued.

Would you be willingly to let someone prick needles all over your face? No, why not? I have endured getting tattoos, I'm sure you have had a needle or two before as well; what can be the big deal?

This growing beauty trend promised to boost collagen to the surface leaving your skin tighter, clearer and glowing.

I specifically tried the Vivace Treatment which uses radio frequency for a faster turnaround. Meaning, my face didn't look bloody and bruised after the treatment (thank goodness).

That doesn't mean it didn't come with some pain! It's a pricey, and slightly scary process ... but in my humble opinion, well worth it!

Once you're done with your session a few things you may need to know.

First, your skin will be red but the majority of the redness should subside within 24 hours. Secondly, your skin may feel rough to the touch. There may be some swelling and bruising, too. “But it really depends on the type of microneedling done. Taking an antihistamine beforehand helps, too.”

The next after effect to watch for is, there may be some minimally visible marks. Not to worry too much because as your skin heals, those marks will vanish. One other effect is if you’re prone to breaking out, you’ll definitely want to let your doctor know beforehand because micrnoneedling can cause breakouts.

Lastly, it’s normal for there to be some pinpoint bleeding on the skin from having the needles inserted into the skin.

Overall I think it was a great experience for me and you will highly enjoy it and be happy with the results.
