Kaepernick Addresses Rumors and Fake News That He'll Stand for Anthem If Hired.
Rumor had it that Kaepernick, if hired, would stand for the national anthem. That turned out to be fake news.
A CBS reporter, Jason La Canfora, clarified his report saying the blackballed ex-San Francisco 49er, Colin Kaepernick, told him he would stand during the national anthem if he was ever hired by an NFL team. Kaepernick disputed the report quoting Winston Churchill tweeting, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. Winston S. Churchill."
The NFL reporter responded to the fake news himself in a series of tweets. "Standing for Anthem wasn't something that I spoke to Colin about sat. I relayed what had been reported about him standing in the future. Colin would have to address any future demonstrations. I didn't ask him if he would sit or stand. Our chat primarily about his will to play. What he would do during the Anthem I do not know."
One has to wonder how a story, where Kaepernick didn't even speak to CBS and the reporter for CBS never even did an interview, even saw the light of day. Colin's girlfriend, Ness Nitty, also took to Twitter to dispel the rumor.
We'll update this story as it develops.
