Azealia Banks Calls Out M.I.A For Being Anti-Black.
Earlier this year, Azealia Banks squashed beef with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, and even went as far trying to collaborate on a song with her before the idea was shut down by Def Jam. However, she was not so forgiving towards others artists like M.I.A., who she called out for being “anti-black.”
Banks went to Twitter to voice her frustrations with M.I.A. by saying, “Mia be lowkey trying to take credit for black culture and the s*** is annoying. She’s like clearly quite anti-black. I don’t get her points a lot of the time it’s like she came up in hip-hop then wants to be like what about my people but tries to discredit. It’s always like why do you care about blacks and not Indians when blacks took this from my culture. She stay trying to compare struggles. When it’s like honey… just spit your rhyme.”
This comes after M.I.A. went to Instagram to voice her thoughts on her music being discredited because of her ties to producer Diplo. Via Instagram, M.I.A. said, “It’s important you don’t see me as a lil thing diplomats discovered because I’m a brown woman.”
