(IBEXNews) - A Long Island woman is accused of bashing her longtime lover to death and setting a massive fire to cover up the crime, police said Saturday.

Jennifer Gross, 54, hit her boyfriend James Coppola in the head with a pan and ignited his Centre Island Rd. home in Centre Island on Nov. 30, cops sad.

“There are two sides to every story and the truth will come out in court,” a handcuffed Gross told said Saturday as she was being taken to Hempstead Criminal Court, where she was ordered held without bail.

Coppola, 75, lived in Howard Beach, Queens, but often stayed at the Long Island home, were he was found by first responders, authorities said.
